Okay, so I was really excited to go back to Vaughn, and “Falling For the Jerk” did not disappoint!!! Jensen and Gracie’s love story was a breath of fresh air, and I can honestly say that I loved every second of it. I really enjoyed their interactions with each other, and I loved watching their relationship grow and develop over the course of the novel. Jensen was a bit of an alphahole, but that’s just part of his charm!!! I really think he was a complex character with flaws, but I also think he loves fiercely and is extremely loyal to those he cares about. And Gracie!!! She’s a total sweetheart, but she could definitely hold her own, and she wasn’t afraid to stand up for herself when necessary. This book is the best small town romance I’ve read in ages. I highly recommend!!!

This book was absolutely amazing. I loved the banter between the two characters. I also love how they end up getting together. This book was making me laugh out loud on so many occasions.

Falling for the Jerk is another perfect Amy Alves book! It is set in a small town with the grumpy/sunshine and enemies to lovers tropes, all my absolute favorite aspects of a romance book!

Jensen Vaughn and Gracie Parker do not like each other, constantly bickering and neither can do anything right in the other person’s eyes. Jensen is the Assistant Chief with the Vaughn Fire Department. Gracie is a new transplant in town and a physical therapist who has needed Jensen’s rescue efforts more times than she can count, but now she seems to have broken Jensen. In Jensen’s latest attempt at rescuing Gracie from herself he falls down a set of stairs and is now on medicinal leave while he heals.

Gracie becomes his physical therapist and as they get to know each other they realize there are things they didn’t know, some of their initial judgements were wrong and there is more to each other them. Gracie was a feisty, strong, independent and loyal person, she was great at standing up for herself and was dealt a hard hand in life. Jensen clearly doesn’t want to like Gracie but she makes it pretty impossible. Without knowing her physical ailments he is dedicated to helping her and is so sweet to her (once he accepts that he doesn’t hate her).

I absolutely loved them and The Vine is such a great small town addition to this series. I am so excited for Brody next, seems like the second grump in the Vaughn family is about to be taken down by a five year old. Thank you @greyspromo and @amyalves.author for the ARC!

This was my first book by this author so I  haven't read any of her previous books that some of the side characters in this clearly came from, but i wasn't lost reading this at all as Alves gives just enough details about them to let you know what you need to but leaves it so you can go back and read their stories if you want to... which i will be doing at some point.

This story follows Jensen, who, after being left at the altar a year ago, is still hiding himself in his work as a firefighter and keeping to himself. Despite being a self-proclaimed recluse, the town gossip is very active about him, particularly when it surrounds his animosity towards the pint-sized physical therapist Gracie.
Ever since she moved to town, Jensen has made his dislike for her known as much as possible, especially as he always seems to be needing to save her from one debacle or another that she gets herself into. He sees her as accident prone & incapable of acting "normal," but what he doesn't know is Gracie actually has a neurological disability that causes her clumsiness as she has trouble controlling her body at times. They are forced to be around each other due to an accident caused by one such moment because of Gracies disability that leads to Jensen needing her help, and the forced proximity makes them both realise that their anamosity towards each other has been covering other feelings all along.

Gracie's character wasn't the stereotypical "quirky/clumsy" FMC for the sake of her character not being "like other women." It serves a much greater purpose. Her accitdent proneness wasn’t used in the cute anecdotal way that characteristic is usually written in female leads, it was an actual representation of her disability and how that impacts her daily life and the opinion of those around her who aren't aware of her neurological condition. A perfect example of that is the MMC Jensen and his initial opinion of her and the at times really harsh things he says to her because of those ill-informed opinions.
Jensen or Jerksen, as Gracie likes to call him, is a jealous, possessive, dirty talking, domineering & and broody, but deep down, he is a  cinnamon roll for Gracie and Gracie only and frankly I loved it. The banter between them was great, as was the overall humour in the book. This wasn't what I would class as a slow burn, but it did feel like it took longer for their chemistry to ignite than I thought it would. The third act conflict felt a tad unnecessary to me in all honesty and made the ending feel a bit rushed. Other than that, an enjoyable read. 🌶🌶🌶

Grace and Jensen’s story was everything I hoped it would be! Sunshine but clumsy Physio Therapist vs buff and grumpy firefighter! The witty banter, love/hate relationship was the perfect mix to keep me from putting it down! Plenty of laugh out loud moments that had my hubby giving me the

“So that’s how you’d describe your usual type...”

“Growly, intense, brown-eyed, cocky ***holes who have a gooey center and heart of gold. I’m chasing unicorn men. While alluring, they’ve proven to be mythical. And their lookalikes - regular ***holes - are consistently bad for me...”

Hilarious small-town rom-com that instantly put a smile on my face. Jensen and Gracie were such adorable characters that you can’t help but fall in love with them. Jensen, a firefighter, that was loved by everyone in the small town brought out the worst in Gracie. She was new to town and had become known for her clumsiness right away. And Jensen was always there to witness her accidents. He tried to keep her safe, but her latest mishap involved him trying to save her from falling down a flight of stairs. Instead, he ended up falling, injuring himself, and the town gossip blamed it on Gracie. And who is the best physical therapist that can get him back on his feet? Gracie. Can they survive each other until Jensen is back on his feet?
This was so hilarious with all of Gracie’s mishaps, Jensen’s grumpiness, and their sassy witty banter. I loved it so much that I actually had to read it twice. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for something fun with a sassy female and a grumpy hero that will have you laughing out loud.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
