Have you wondered how much air is in your lungs? Or what an egg looks like without its shell without cracking it? Can bones bend? Can you sprout a bean in a half hour using your mouth?? If you weren't wondering before, I bet you're wondering now! These awesome questions and more are answered in this book.

There are a lot of science project books aimed at kids, but this one is far and away my favorite. I like the format of each experiment. It clearly lays out a question, procedure, outcomes, the science behind the experiment, and additions/variations to explore further. There are color photos throughout, which really draws you in to some of the stranger experiments. Each activity has a mess-meter and whether or not you need adult supervision, which gives kids a lot of agency in exploring science. Plus the experiments are really, really cool.

I booktalked this for a group of kids raging from 2nd through 10th grade and there were projects that every single kid was interested in. They would make great library STEM programs, but also would be fun to do at home.
