Dead Letters is part of Sheila Connolly's Museum Mystery series. In this story, Nell Pratt, the president of Pennsylvania Antiquarian Society, searches the letters and documents in their files for information on Arthur Logan's family history. Arthur wants her help in uncovering a family secret in exchange for a coveted donation to the society. Nell discreetly does some research and seems to be getting help from an unlikely source - Thomas, the Society’s resident ghost.

This was a short story in which the mystery is the family secret and not any type of suspicious death. It's a fun, very quick read, but I'm glad I got to know the main character, Nell, who is professional and personable. I found it interesting to read in the author's note at the end that the author actually worked as a fundraiser for the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, and it was rumored to be haunted!

Quick, fun read. These short novellas are great fun. In this one Ms. Connelly has some fun with a ghost story. I can recommend it if you're a fan of the museum mystery series.
