I found myself excited to come back to this book. I normally like plot driven stories, so I wasn’t sure I’d like this. However, it was interesting to unpack each character’s motivations and perspectives.

The opening chapter of this book is by far the most gripping and tense that I can remember reading. And once the set up of the interplay of characters was established, I couldn't get enough of it.

Drawing such vivid scenes where race and class are left painfully difficult to avoid or reconcile for Emira, it is her that put all my heart into a hopeful end for.
