An excellent conclusion to the trilogy. I want to go back and read it again. Sally Green doesn't pull punches when it comes to killing off people. Great pacing.

1 1/2 stars. What the FUCK was this? No, I mean really. This was such a horrid ending to the trilogy and not for the most obvious reason. What happened to Gabriel's character? "I don't want to see you hurt Nathan.....I love you Nathan.....I love you more than life itself ..." (cackling)

I mean that's all it was. Gabriel just kept fussing over Nathan the entire book and Nathan, instead of being a badass hero, acted like a little pissbaby. Excuse my French. I mean the magic is just gone. The first book was edgy, the second book was bad but tolerable, but this one was just disappointing. I gave it an extra half star for the last chapter. The ending lines of the book have a sort of hollowed out sadness but it was a good sadness. Bittersweet.

Unfortunately it still didn't make up for the rest of the book.

This book absolutely destroyed me and I will never get over it. Extraordinary. It made me feel absolutely awful and I didn't want to read on but I had to and I cried. So much. In the middle of a bookstore. Thanks, Sally Green.

I’m mad that this one was such a let down because book 2, whilst not perfect, was pretty fun. Here the plot is so squished in and fast paced that there’s no time to breathe or ruminate on the themes, especially since things get quite dark in this one it would have been nice to be able to contemplate it properly. Even Gabriel and Nathan’s relationship, which I was gagging for in book 2, just happened mostly off page and there was no like discussion about it. I HATED the ending as well, killing off the best character and then randomly introducing a son?? Natan’s character development was butchered and rushed. So yeah, unfortunately probably wouldn’t really recommend this series overall.
