Leo Frost wins our hearts by LITERALLY saving the cat as this story opens. And Kim Jacobs is sharp, gorgeous, a good friend, and has managed to be at both ends of the "pick a great/terrible relative" lottery. As well as pregnant by Leo who doesn't want her to have the baby.

Disclaimer; I received a free copy of this novel from the author in return for an honest review.

Romantic suspense isn't really my "thing," but this story moves so fast and the characters are so compelling that I really enjoyed it. In fact, while it took me some time to crack the cover, once I started reading I just kept going. It also took some twists and turns I wasn't expecting. I couldn't help picturing Owen Wilson as the douchey cousin, Wilson (deliberate author choice?) which gave me the sads, but even there, there were some surprises. Stella the cat is a charmer, and since it's a romance, expect a satisfying Happily Ever After.

I very much enjoyed the relationship between the hero and heroine. They were characters WITH character! I also found the story quite interesting. However, there were TWO areas that affected my overall opinion of the book - one (I think) was a formatting issue - why weren't there any scene breaks? Basically, it went straight from one character in one scene directly to another elsewhere. I found the jumps with no spacing graphic to be confusing. The other issue is that my personal preference is not to spend much time with the antagonist. I think Wilson had too much of the book dedicated to him. One of the reasons I prefer romantic suspense to pure suspense novels is that GLIMPSES into the bad guys' minds is plenty for me. I want just enough to feel the threat - danger - to the hero and heroine but not so much as to have evil darkness cloud the overall romantic essence of the book.

In this last installment of the Adrenaline High series, it's all about ending on a "high" note. And with Leo and Kim's happily ever after. In THOSE areas, I was VERY pleased.
