I think anyone who marries someone in the active military goes through the emotions of the lead female in this. It is very brave indeed to love someone who decides to defend our nation. While this was supposed to "introduce" us to misty river, it really didn't feel like it that much until the last couple chapters when the Miracle 5 and the lead character for the first book of the series showed up.

Take a Chance on Me is a great introduction to Becky Wade's new series. I was already excited for Stay with Me, but this novella has me even more psyched for it.

Eli and Penelope were likable characters who were easy to root for. Because they knew each other previously, their romance didn't feel rushed. That isn't always the case with novellas, so I really appreciated that. This was the perfect length.

I'm really looking forward to visiting Misty River again and checking in with all these characters in Stay with Me.

Cute novella that is a prequel to the new Misty River Romance series. This book introduces us to Sam who is one of the main characters in Stay With Me. It also features Eli who also appears in Stay With Me.

In this book, Penelope has friends who have dated airmen and it didn't turn out so well. She is determined and made it a rule never to date someone in the military. When Eli, a friend of her brother's and a former crush returns from a mission in Syria, she is forced to decide if she can bend her rule for the handsome pilot.

Lots of fun moments in this novella, including a nod to Top Gun. Sweet clean romance! Highly recommend Stay With Me, the full novel and first book in the series.

Cute short Novella, setting up the world of this new series.

Eli is in the military stationed nearby and is smitten with a small town local girl, they have a little bit of history and he is determined to win her heart this time around. Penelope has trust issues and fights Eli every step of the way. It is a cute sweet story. Overall I loved the story. There is a side plot about her brother and his wife and some issues she had in delivering their baby and I was VERY concerned it would get REALLY SAD REALLY FAST. But thankfully the author didn't go in that direction. The trauma of the plot is helpful at explaining Penelope's thoughts and issues.

Something that bothered me, I know this is set in Georgia and I am not from Georgia, but it seemed like Penelope spoke in 80 year old lady language. Is this normal for Georgia? She said phrases that I would find in regency books not contemporary romance. I was very confused by the way she spoke and it was never explained why she did that. It may have been a character quirk, but let the audience know why. It was distracting.
