Reading through the first few pages, I told myself this book was worth buying for the artwork alone. Boy do I love being proved wrong in the best possibles ways!

Yes, the art is gorgeous and I could fawn over the linework and composition all day. But the real surprise for me was how much I enjoyed the story. I'm not usually very fond of highschool drama and the likes, however the nuanced storytelling really won me over as I went on. I expected to be hopelessly annoyed and frustrated and instead was shown the characters' mistakes and questionable decision making to be the natural process of life and growing up, told in a non-judgemental, refreshing and almost loving way. There was a compassion that is too often lacking in teenage stories.

It was quite the fun read and the conclusion was as satisfying as can be.

Such a beautiful graphic novel. The composition and the use of colour was very appealing. I think it displayed the strain on friendships due to toxic relationships really well.

Fin liten tegneserie om ungdomstid og kjærlighet, toxic forhold og å bryte fri fra dem. Ganske trist innhold, men likte godt å følge Frederica. Utrolig vakker kunst i boka også.
