I watched the movie first and was interested in what the book was like. It was interesting to see the main characters in more detail and understand their goals, flaws, and love towards their families and each other. I wanted to see Henry's point of view in the book along with Alex's, but I think the author did a decent job of displaying his character through outside figures. The story sort of dragged towards the end after the main issue was resolved. Overall, the story was fun and gave a heartfelt romance with feet kicking moments.

This book had a lot of potential but fell short in several ways. The suspense when Henry blanked Alex was incredibly short lived and the resolution was underwhelming. The ending was a bit too drawn out, and also lacked suspense cause the outcome was pretty predictable. I also wasn’t intrigued by the political storyline as much as the romance (but thats just personal preference). It was a good slow burn romance though, with somewhat of an enemies to lovers plot line (completely unprompted, which kind of bothered me), and there were some parts of the book that were very well written. I particularly enjoyed the emails.

honestly, not my favorite. I was excited to get into this book after hearing all of the hype, but i had a difficult time getting into it. It felt like I was reading a fan fiction. The serious moment felt childish and less appealing with all of the use of bad words. It was very cheesy to me, and not the good kind.
