Enjoyable, easy to read book of essays about new insights about racism from research. Although the pieces are very short (5-10 pages) it felt like most of them packed quite a bit into that space. I enjoyed the research on interracial friendships, and on stereotype threat. The piece that struck me the most was "How Can You Do That To Your Children?" by Meredith Maran, a white woman from Oakland, about people's responses to her living in a predominantly black neighborhood and sending her children there. I'm still holding that one in my mind and heart.
