I got this book as part of an ebook Humble Bundle some time ago. Penny Arcade has always been hit or miss for me, and yes, I am a geek, and a gamer from way back. Volume 1 is the first three years of the comic, and has some commentary at the bottom of each strip, which was an interesting look into why some of them were drawn. A few of them were pretty funny, but as for the rest . . . eh.

During the early 2000s I was reading far too many webcomics, many of which I was reading and not really enjoying, yet I continued doing so for some reason. This was one of them. I never cared for the humor and I think I was just reading them to read them for whatever reason. Maybe I thought, "ha ha gamer humor" at the time and that sufficed. I don't know.
