A little slow to start, but it was so worth it. Such a relevant story that explores settler colonial violence, racism, and apartheid in a brilliantly imaginative way. This was not an easy read but it was an important one.

I love how the author uses the plot device as a chance to dive deep into generational trauma, racism, colonial fantasies, Zionism, and memory. The short chapters and switches in character perspectives maintain momentum through the book. It’s very relevant today despite being written a decade ago.
