This was short and quick, but such a roller coaster. First of all, I was considering giving it two stars. I couldn't get into it. I felt annoyed, for some reason. And then I read one of the last poems, Love Spell for the Desert, and had to re-evaluate everything because I LOVED it.
So I went back and reread it all. And I suddenly understood it. As someone who doesn't read too much poetry, I really need to be in the right mood for it. Fortunately I decided to give this one more shot once my mind caught up with what I was reading, and it bumped it up to three stars. Not a favorite, but the experience was interesting.
