This might be my favorite of the series! I definitely think there's a hint in there at the end that this series could continue, and I totally think that's something Riordan would do. Plus, getting to see characters cross series is always fun. I don't know why I didn't make the Chase connection before starting this series, but I totally get it now.

Riordan has a knack for writing great groups of characters, and in such an entertaining way. His books easily hook you in, and they are quite expansive now. And I can officially say I am caught up on all of his books!

This book is probably my favorite in the series. Sam and Alex are still my favorite characters. T.J. Is also pretty cool.

rick has done it again… i’m getting post-series depression already and i just barely finished it. rick made me yearn to be apart of a world i can never be apart of, again. he, once again, made me love these characters with all my heart and made me want to be able to talk to them and give them hugs or just meet them at least once. it’s such a bittersweet feeling knowing that something as beautiful as this universe intricately woven into existence by rick exists only in our imaginations. i wish floor 19, jack, and just hotel valhalla as a whole have an unforgettable, exciting afterlife waiting for the day ragnarok begins. and of course may sam, amir, hearthstone, and blitzen live long, happy lives that hopefully reach their peaceful end before ragnarok. everyday till then, i’ll miss them always.

What a trilogy! I really enjoyed this series

As far as finales go, it's pretty strong. Honestly, the fact that's the final battle is rather underwhelming doesn't bother me too much, since this was a trilogy (unlike with Heroes of Olympus). I love this cast of characters so much. Aside from the pretty bad portrayal of the Norse gods, I can't think of a single character that I really disliked. And the ones that were weaker at first (Halfborn, Mallory, and T.J.) got a lot more depth in this book, so no complaints.

Loki is still my favorite Riordanverse villain, but I think the way he got defeated is very stupid. Not a book-ruiner, but the fact that he got trapped in a walnut shell after being told he had no friends made me laugh.

Magnus and Alex are my favorite Riordanverse pairing. No contest. I'll admit that I'm not even that crazy about Solangelo (maybe they get better in Nero, who knows?). On a similar note, Blitzen and Hearthstone are driving me insane. I feel like this is one of the few times when I feel like a non-canon really should be canon, and I'm in actual distress that it's not. They're still great (queer-) platonically, but Jesus Christ. I feel like they'd be canonized immediately if they were heterosexual. Anyway. Regardless, their bond is one of the strongest points of the trilogy (evident by how the thing I remember most vividly from Hammer of Thor is the scene where Hearthstone is hugging the freshly-melted Blitzen - this brainrot is evidently what I get from making fun of shippers lmfao). Like what the fuck? They're better than the majority of the canon ships in the series and extremely romantically-/queer-coded. Riordan, why would you do this to the fanbase???

I wish this series was longer (and it DEFINITELY could've been), but I feel satisfied with the way the series ended. As it stands, it's my second favorite series, right behind the original pentalogy

OKAY this review contains spoilers and personal ranting about the book. You have been warned.

It’s 1 am. I’m crying my eyes out. I just, somehow can’t believe that I’ve finished the Magnus Chase triology. So much laughter & tears. I remember reading a part of it the day before Midsommar (since I’m Swedish and celebrate Midsommar) and Magnus mentioned that they had to finish something before midsommar, and I just kinda laughed like “yep well you’ll have to hurry up, cuz it’s tomorrow!”. I love Magnus Chase SO. MUCH. This book was just as beautiful as the other two. Hearthstone and Blitzen remain my absolute favorite characters in the entire Riordanverse. My love for Magnus and Alex is absolutely unmatched however. THE KISS SCENES? PLS I WAS SCREAMING IN HAPPINESS. I love the two of them so much. Both as a couple and individual characters. Samirah is absolutely amazing and wonderful in every possible way. I can’t deny that. Mallory, TJ & Halfborn are awesome as well. These books have been my comfort books for months so it does hurt to have to let it go, but I knew it’d come to its end eventually.  I will hope for another book or some kind of new content, though I highly do doubt the chance of that. Annabeth and Percy actually being in the book is the best thing ever. As both a MCGA & PJO fan that was the best possible “crossover”. I know that words won’t be able to describe how much I love these books, so I’ll have to end it here. I do however know that it is a time in my life that I’ll never forget, and that it created such special memories. But, everything must come to an end. So that’s it for me. The adventures are finished.
