4.27 AVERAGE

Excellent. One of the best in this series.

Ideally I would give this like a 3.8. It’s very good as always don’t get me wrong, I just found it took me a long time to finish because I wasn’t very engaged as the others as Dream (or any of the other characters we know) were barely in it! I see what Gaiman was trying to do here but I was just hoping for more of a continuous plot. Nonetheless, some of the stories were excellent as always!!

an orpheus and eurydice retelling in MY fantasy comic series?

A stand-alone installment of The Sandman series, this one focusing on how Dream has affected people (historical and fictional) throughout time.  Some historical characters featured are August Caesar, Marco Polo, and Joshua Abraham Norton I.   I especially enjoyed "Three Septembers and a January", "Thermidor", "The Hunt", "Orpheus", and "Ramadan".

Like most of the anthology volumes, it's hit or miss, but the hits are frickin' home runs, I tell you what.
