This hopeful book elucidates the power that small kindnesses and friendship can have on someone's life. I was intrigued by the character's trauma, the counseling process, and how it helped. The accounts of her forays into the world of looking feminine amused me greatly.

The first time I picked this up I got 2 chapters and had to out it down because I wasn't liking it. I was cringing so much but this time I picked it up I flew through it.

Such a good book had me tearing up at times then cringing so hard the next moment but I loved reading it to see the growth of Eleanor.

What I would have loved is a extra therapy session since the bombshell of Eleanor finally learning everything but thats just wishful thinking.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️A lonely Scottish woman meets a quirky, kind man and finds friendship and healing. Both snarky and sad, I couldn’t help but fall in love with both Eleanor and Raymond. Endearing read that I thoroughly enjoyed.

How I wish I can give Eleanor a warm hug because this book is just the whole epitome of it. Albeit a bit lengthy, this book, sprinkled with humour, touches topics on mental health, the beauty of solitude and what it means to love yourself amidst your harrowing past. Eleanor Oliphant is unlike any character I have come across and I just can’t help but sympathize with her throughout her journey on self-healing. A pretty solid 4-star book.

This line, among the several one’s I highlighted, says a lot about the vibes that this book gives off and resonates with me the most:

“Noticing details, that was good. Tiny slivers of life – they all added up and helped you to feel that you, too, could be a fragment, a little piece of humanity who usefully filled a space, however minuscule.”
