This book is exactly like the Love Hypothesis, but just not as good. The FMC is annoying and for me the MMC had a lot of red flags. I found his obsessive behavior somewhat creepy and suffocating at times.
I also found 30 consecutive pages consisting of only sex scenes a bit excessive....

“Milk?”
“Whole?”
“Two percent.”
“Keep your white water!”.

Jack un Elsie satikšanās stāsts ir asprātīgs, vietām traumatisks, bet silts un emocionāls.

Such a fun read that I absolutely flew through! A classic slow burn romance with lots of sexual tension and lovable characters. I especially love the deep dive into the world of academia (which is always strong in Hazelwood's books), which adds an interesting element to the story and relationships between the characters! Definitely recommend to those looking for an enjoyable and easy romance read with some spice!

Elsie Hannaway is a struggling adjunct professor with the dream of researching theoretical physics. She holds many jobs to pay for rent and her insulin, but it isn't enough. Elsie finds herself getting paid to be a fake girlfriend to make up the difference. And then comes Jack, the brother of her fake boyfriend. Turns out that Jack is the same dude that ruined her mentor's career while publicly undermining theoretical physicists. AND he works at MIT over the physics department, where Elsie is trying to land her dream job. This STEMinist novel is absolutely adorable. I could feel Elsie's pain of trying to make an income as an adjunct professor (been there, done that) and trying to be someone you're not just to please others out of the fear of rejection. This is definitely an enemies-to-lovers trope and can't get enough of it. will definitely be reading more of Ali Hazelwood's work! For those who care about these kinds of things, this was an easy listen using Libby audiobooks at 2.0x speed.

I enjoyed this sweet, light hearted story. It was exactly what I needed for my break on dark, mysteries. I love that this story made me think of my boyfriend and me 🥰
