Hazel Perry is known as The Lioness. A MMA fighter who just went professional after her last victory. Beside her is her boyfriend and coach, Knox Carr, who is prepping her for her new career.

After the death of her former coach Bernie Gutierrez, Knox's sister, Karley, reaches out to Bernie's daughter, Maya Petrova to let her know of his death. Maya has her own issues going on with her abusive husband, Dimitri Petrova whom she married when she was 18.

When Maya escapes from Dimitri and goes to Hazel she brings with her the fear that Dimitri may follow her. Can Hazel keep focused on her fights when she is worried about Maya?

This was such a great follow up to I Am Lioness!

I loved Hazel and this story definitely showed a different side of her as at times her self-confidence wavered. In this book we saw some self doubt and questions about Knox with everything that had happened with Luis and now that Knox was unable to be with Hazel as much as usual.

Knox has a lot of fear in this book with being worried about Hazel's safety. He receives the contract of a lifetime but it means he has to space out his time. He is still as possessive of Hazel and wants to protect her at all costs.

The chemistry between Knox and Hazel is through the roof! They are extremely hot together and they are definitely great together!

I loved Manny and really hope we do get a book with him in it and maybe add Maya in it as well!

This book has so many twists and turns! Some of them I was expecting and others I completely wasn't. I loved that the book grips you from the beginning and doesn't let you go!

Such a great book!

Welcome back to the world of Knox and Hazel. When we left these two they were moving in together. Hazel was still mourning the loss of her coach, and stand in father. She also had to look into where his daughter, Maya, was so that his will could be delivered to her…..
In enters Maya. She left her father many years ago to be with a man that he did not like. Dimitri was 15 years older than her and her father did not approve of the relationship. Maya chose Dimitri over her father. It was not too long after the wedding that she seriously regretted that decision. Dimitri was an all-around bad guy. In addition to his illegal money making activities, he was also a wife beater. Maya was finally ready to get away from him. So she asked for help from the only person she could think of that was not in with her husband. When Maya asks Hazel for help, despite Hazel not being Maya’s biggest fan, she feels like she has to help her. Not only because it’s the right thing to do, but because Bernie (Maya’s father) would have wanted her to. So they take Maya in and help her escape her abusive husband.
This story is drama packed! There is not only the issue of the abusive husband wanting her errant wife back, but you learn something quite interesting about Reyna. Luis gets into some trouble of his own. Knox has an ex-girlfriend that tried to push her way back into his life. A new love begins to blossom with another character (I’m not saying who). I loved how there were many other outside stories going on with the supporting characters. It’s great to see how Hazel, who had no family before, starts to build her own family with the people of her choosing. This is a great story with a lot of love, great characters, a bunch of drama and a bit of suspense thrown in.
