Okay so definitely the most serious one so far. This one actually creeped me out, but the backstory discovered was definitely the most intriguing. The story didn't really start to develop until the end, and then things just kind of rushed ahead. So I would have like it to be paced better. Some character development was good (ie. Puck) and some was a little cliche (Daphne). It's kind of crazy that Sabrina is so stubborn and not really a nice person at all, yet you still root for her.

This book was harder for me to read I felt like it wasn't very action packed! Overall it was O-Kay

Mr. Canis has been imprisoned and awaits trial. The Grimm family is barred from seeing him until the day before the trial. Will he be sentence to death for the murders he committed before taming the wolf? Meanwhile, Uncle Jake and the girls search for Goldilocks who is the only hope to save the girls' parents.
Funny, suspenseful, and an overall great read. This series is still so much fun!
Upper elementary.

“Tales from the Hood” is another funny, gripping addition to Michael Buckley’s “The Sisters Grimm Series.”
This was one of my favourite middle grade series growing up and I’m so excited to revisit it as an adult to see how it holds up. The book is just as whimsical as I remembered, taking the classic fairytales and turning them on their heads.
“Tales from the Hood” gives a fairy tale twist to a legal drama about the Big Bad Wolf’s criminal trial. The Grimm family has to work overtime to have their close friend and protector, Mr. Canis, found not guilty when he is put on trial by the Scarlett Hand. The Grimms partner with the last few Everafters that they can trust to solve the case and save Mr. Canis because they are Grimms and that is what they do.

So enjoyable, I finished reading it in one sitting once I picked it back up!
I was shocked and impressed by all the intense and more mature themes and topics in the book, that I had never fully realized when I was younger. Like creepy men who feel entitled to women just by them being there, or unfair trials and execution! Whoa! Though I feel like it was written in a well-thought-out way.
I had forgotten that Mr. Canis had been the Woodcutter and that he had a whole other name! It took me until this time reading it, as a relatively new adult, to realize that Canis is a genus of wolves! I thought the name reference was really funny and clever once I recognized what it was.
Something I had never noticed when I was younger, was how wise Puck was when it came to certain subjects. When he and Sabrina are sleeping on the trampoline, the things he says really hit me as extremely mature and dignified responses to the situation that Sabrina had put herself into, it was really cool for me to recognize that and be excited to see how he uses it in the future!
Overall, I really enjoyed it and I thought it was fabulous. I am very excited to revisit my favorite book in the series, book 7!
