Another excellent read by this author. I adore the characters in this novel, this cozy town and all the food.  This series is one that keeps you guessing, for a cozy, to not see who the murderer is, is quite an art.  Looking forward to reading the next in the series!

This is my first introduction to this series. It was a nice introduction. I had not problems jumping right into the book. It can be read as a stand alone novel; which I did not feel like I missed anything not having read the prior novel.

What I did have an issue with is the fact that the characters didn't leave me all warm and fuzzy. For this reason, I did struggle some with this book in just being able to sit and read non stop. It was more of a stop and go affect. Yet, the story was fine. No real surprises. A cozy story that I would expect.

I've now read the first two books in this series and have had the same reaction, I just don't like the main character that much. It's hard to pinpoint why but it's partially because she does the dumbest things throughout the course of the book. The mystery itself was actually fairly well thought out for the most part but did veer into some rather weird territory towards the end. Just not for me.

More Praise for the Lazy Mermaids!! I love how Ms. Randall can make her novels so much fun and so very thrilling at the same time. Aunt Gully and Gully's Gals inspire me for my golden years lol.

When Allie finds not only one, but two bodies, she has the task of figuring out if there is a connection. Not only does she have that task, she has to make sure the blame isn't placed on her sister Lorel. With more questions than answers, Allie and her BFF Verity are determined to find them. The puzzle is definitely a doozy this go around. Everyone is suspect in this case. People are acting oddly and most are dazed by the celebrities in town.

When the connections come together and the pieces all start to fit, I was shocked. I did not see it coming. I had suspicions of the persons involved but I had no idea of the how or why.

I enjoyed seeing some characters from book one becoming more of a core character in this one.

The audio version of this book is great. The narrator is very entertaining and really made the story come to life. I am impatiently awaiting Book 3, Drawn and Buttered. It releases on 2/26/19. I already have the audible version pre-ordered.
