Excellent with 1 major flaw….Jamie is saturated fat phobic so please feel free to add browned butter to the pasta recipes instead of the constant olive oil and ignore the “healthy” advice in the back on pg 305 on fat. Other than that, this book is great with delicious, easy recipes. My husband and I will be wearing this one out over the years with some tweaks.

A simple cookbook. Not needing a lot of ingredients, not having to spend hours in the kitchen and not really excentric ingredients. Great love it!

For those unused to cooking terms, read glossary and beginning as the methods assume knowledge. The recipes given the 5 ingredients premise are basic and in places parts of meals if wanting say vegetable or carbohydrate or protein components to complement whichever is not the recipe depicted. In saying that, a good ideas "kicking off"point for those nights/days where too tired to think of something to make.

This book is incredibly beautiful and wonderfully simple. It's perfect for new cooks or someone who needs a little push to be inspired. However, I question if some of these could really be considered a complete meal.

I am all about easy recipes, but this one fell a little flat for me. While there are a few in here that I saved for later, alot of them weren't really meals, per se, which is what I wanted; or they called for ingredients that are not typical for me to have on hand or find easily. So it's not bad- but probably not one I'll return to again.

This is a great cook book. So far I have tried one recipe and it was delicious. I did add onion, but tried to stay true to his way of cooking it. I think I found an easier way, but it got me thinking a bit differently. There are a few ingredients that can be a challenge to get in the Heartland of America versus Great Britain. I did order a flavoring ingredient, and hope once I try it I can find a good substitute that doesn't have to go through customs.
