My review is here.

"If people who were actually born here had to prove they were worthy enough to live in America, this would be a much less populated country." p.112

"America's not really a melting pot. It's more like one of those divided metal plates with separate sections for starch, meat, and veggies." p. 128

"I never before thought that not caring could be a revolutionary act." p. 319

"...everything looks like chaos up close. Daniel thinks it's a matter of scale. If you pull back far enough and wait for long enough, then order emerges." p. 340

it was good….. i first read it years ago idek when and i really liked it. on second read it was not as good. i think that is primarily because it is a mostly a romance and i don’t love romance books. anyways it was good. some of the quotes from that book are fantastic. it’s honestly beautiful from an objective stance (aside from being kinda basic) but boring from a subjective stance.

First, i love when a book's title is imbedded in the story, it is so fun and makes me happy every single time. I was not expecting to like this book as much as I did but wow it was so unique and interesting. I loved the extra notes and "chapters" about random people or topics that are mentioned throughout the novel. They made the pacing really nice and was a fun addition. I also liked the ending and how we don't know if they actually get together in this universe or not, but that in another universe they find each other again and reiterates the point of how nobody is truly alone in this universe and that everything is connected. Whether you believe that is by dark matter like Natasha or by love like Daniel. I am also glad we got to here from Irene again, even if it is in another universe.

Tu propia historia. ¿Qué si las historias no son ciertas? ¿Qué si no puedes adaptarte?

― El romance es tan bonito y tan dulce (I have 0 complaints, I'm a hopeless romantic).

I thought this book was pretty stupid for most of it. It’s a feel good book, a completely unrealistic book. It doesn’t take a day for people to fall in love, and teenage love is never real. I think they should have ended with Natasha leaving and moving on with her life. Maybe that one day did impact them a lot, but really? Call me an antiromantic cynic but this book read as pure desperation and stupid teenage drama.
