This book was funny, just like the previous ones, but it also had a lot of serious topics and tones along with some graphic imagery that surprised me.

Ildaria has been taking down bad guys vigilante style, which the Council isn't happy about. To protect her, Ildaria is forced to relocate and lay low in a new town. There she meets G.G., a mortal well acquainted with the world of Immortals, but is happy with is mortal lifestyle. When these two meet, the realization that they are life mates shakes them both. G.G. is forced to make a choice when Ildaria's past catches up with them, a choice between losing Ildaria or facing the demons of his past.

Ildaria and G.G. were both very cute together. I thought the chemistry between them was sweet and loving. Ildaria's past is brought up and G.G. listens and takes that into consideration regarding their relationship, as Ildaria does with G.G.'s past. They accept the other and everything before and it was really cute.

G.G.'s mother, who is spoken about but doesn't show up until closer to the end of the story, is hilarious. The first half of chapter 16 had me laughing so hard I had to put the book down a few times. It was great, I loved it, and it was all because of G.G.'s mother (and to a lesser extent his father) during that scene.

I also liked how the whole book we are waiting for the big bad to show up and when it does it isn't anything like we kind of expected it to be. I also found that all the explanations were good and the extended backstory was nice.

There was a part that I found a bit annoying, but not to the point that it ruined the story. Ildaria speaks of her past and is confused why the man in her memories didn't do certain things and I was rolling my eyes the whole time cause I already knew why. It was kind of obvious, but taking into consideration that the events leading up to and right after that was filled with trauma and extreme conditions, I could forgive that she didn't make the connection right away as I had.

Overall, this was another funny story in this series but with some very heavy subject matter in the middle. I would for sure read again.

I cannot believe that I have just finished book 31 in this series. It is still going strong. The author is still shocking me with the stories. I am always left wanting more. The sign of an amazing talented author.

Angelina has been brought to Canada after going vigilante again, this time in Montana. She is getting her act together. Going to school. Working. Living with Marguerite. She should be safe and staying out of trouble.

Unfortunately, trouble is her middle name. Angelina steps up to help a fellow student about to be abducted. You Tube is not her friend. Marguerite, matchmaker, has plans in motion that will keep her busy while she waits for a new semester.

Angelina goes to G.G.'s night club to pick up Marguerite's blood, all part of the plan to introduce her to her life mate. She is hired as his accountant and dog walker. Given an apartment. Angelina's life will never be the same. How could it living across the hall way from G.G.

The challenges just keep coming. He doesn't want immortality. The guy that attacked her 200 years ago is still searching for her. The F.B.I. guy she saved in Montana is searching for her. Will she run?
Will she get her man? Will she ever be safe? Grab the popcorn, get comfy and fall into and exciting, dramatic story

Story was ok. Characters, just ok. Didn't really like the resolution with the "bad guy."

I honestly love this series, I mean I’ve been reading them for years, but this particular one is not one of my favorites, and it has everything to do with the last 60 or so pages, I mean there were things that happened throughout that I liked and disliked and it was going for a solid four star rating until the last parts of the story.

I love that GG found his mate! I'm concerned that the FBI guy will be a problem later even with the mind manipulation.
Spoilers and triggering rant ahead.
As a woman who experienced sexual abuse as a child - THERE IS NEVER ANY EXCUSE. Also, having "good reasons" to increase prices on necessary products so that poor people are unable to buy the thing they need is also inexcusable. I sincerely hope we NEVER get a story with Juan. Seriously I don't care if a person is accidentally high or under drug influence - abuse is abuse is abuse WITHOUT EXCEPTIONS. I am furious that he was able to grow back his dick.

a really great read with a lot of heartache, a fun plot twist in the end, and a sweet romance. Loved the HEA and looking forward to what comes next.

Full review coming soon to the blog.

It’s not a good sign when your favorite character in a romance is the Hero’s mom.

This one was a miss for me.

I mean the heroine was cool. And the hero was nice enough. But I just couldn’t picture it. I thought the hero was fairly young since he has a green Mohawk and runs a night club, and is at one point described as a man child. But nope. He’s in his 40s? Idk. I wasn’t paying too close attention. And his name is Joshua but goes by G.G. And his dog is H.D. Idk.

His mom was cool though. I’d hang with her.

Also the villain of the story was way better in the 5 min he was in the story than G.G. was the whole book. I think I would have rather read an enemies to lover/misunderstanding than whatever this was.

One star for the villain Don Juan and one star for the hilarious mom.

In typical Lynsay Sands fashion, this was a good book. Ildaria and G.G. were an interesting couple. I appreciate that Sands is keeping up with the times now and illustrating that a healthy way to deal with problems is to seek help instead of pushing them down. Or that your partner is not your therapist so you can't expect them to solve all your brain issues. This is where the romance seems more realistic to me.

I'm not sure how I feel about where Sands is taking life-mates in her books these days. The love triangle is one of my least favorite tropes. But this won't stop me from reading her books. :)

You would think after thirty books this series would get a bit stale but I have to say it never does for me. The author never fails to surprise me. This book reunites us with some of my favorite characters. Marguerite, Julius, Lucian, Mortimer, Sarah, Tiny and Mirabeau all make guest appearances. This book features one of my favorite minor characters G.G. We met G.G. as the human with the green Mohawk who knows about immortals and runs a blood bar for them in England. He is buying the blood bar in Canada from Lucian. Ildaria may be over two hundred years old but she reads as much younger to me. That may be because she really hasn’t had a chance to grow normally as she has been on the run. But I feel for her and really like her.
This story is filled with unexpected twists and turns and I absolutely LOVE it.
