I must say I wasn't a MASSIVE fan of the fact that the heroine was in a failing long distance relationship for about half of the book, granted the boyfriend claimed he wanted "space"... Aiden kissed Dayna during this time and she pushed him away, nothing further happened until her boyfriend josh was caught out being shady and confessed to cheating and then Dayna basically used Aiden as a rebound which the man on the one-night-stands wasn't happy about (which I thought was great lol) but basically I felt like it wasted alot of time where Dayna was having all these guilty and conflicting feeling about a guy she didnt really want to be with.... she should have broken up with him in the prologue and spent a bit of time "finding herself" again... as a reader I would have enjoyed this alot more, I still would have been fine with the ex showing up wanting her back and still having that same confrontation as well, but yes just felt like alot of wasted time and made me question if I really even liked Dayna as a character.
Besides that reflection, I still enjoyed the read.
Liked Aiden, a typical bad boy misunderstood asshole but I love that type in a book.
Really liked Carson as well. I will continue with the series soon. The rest of the books were not KU, so they will have to go on my book shopping list.

Even though the story has some hard topics in there. I still felt like it was a light-hearted read. I wish it had a bit more depth, but it didn't take away from me enjoying this story. The pacing was fast, which I liked! A relaxing sport romance to read in between series or heavier stuff if you ask me.

This was a cute story, I didn't realise it was another novella.

🩵no third act breakup
🩵small town
🩵broken hero x heroine
🩵deals with grief of a loved one
🩵reformed player

This was a cute romance story, Dumfries was a bit of a douche to begin with, but as always, they meet "the one" and then they grow up.

I was just expecting more drama...it all just happened so fast with the romance. Her parents just accepted it.

But the spice scenes 🥵🥵 hint..there's a beach!

This is a good book and a good prequel to the series as well. I cannot wait to see what happens with the couples in the two prequels in the full first book

I was not expecting this book to be as sweet as it was. I'm totally in love with the beginning to this new Lakeshore U series and I can hardly wait to see where the rest of the series goes.

Both Aiden and Dayna have been living in place where they are trying to escape their pasts. Dayna has been grieving her brother and Aiden has been trying to outrun his father's history. On paper they shouldn't work, but in person they bring out the best in each other. It was a great relationship to watch blossom.

Their relationship is certainly not one without hardship, but in the end they are the kind of couple that others strive to be. I love how sweet Aiden really is, given how Dayna is his first real relationship and while she did have a long term boyfriend before him, she wasn't exactly in the right headspace until Aiden landed on her beach. I can't wait to see them pop up as the series continues. I'm completely smitten by these two.

Ice Burn follows one of the Lakeshore U’s hockey players. Bad boy Aiden Dumfries. Who doesn’t date. Ever. He is a ladies man with lots of notches on his bedposts!

But then he meets Dayna whos just moved back from home from Boston. She is his coach’s best friend, whilst he is staying with Coach trying to save his future playing hockey after getting in a fight back home. She is off-limits, but theres a spark from the moment they meet.

“Bad ideas are the best kind.”

‘Aiden had that charm about him. The cocky bad boy that girls wanted to tame. But there was something wild in his gaze. Something I knew would never be conquered.’

I thought this was beautiful. Dayna has a heart of gold. Shes just lost. Being around Aiden made her come back to life. They were so good for each other! There is so much more to Aiden than he shows. Yes, hes cocky & arrogant but hes gentle & loving. Try and not fall in love with him! He opened up and let her in and she made him a better version of himself. It was cute, fast paced. Aiden has a filthy mouth

Holy moley! I’m in love with Aiden and Dayna. Getting over a recent break up is hard, but losing a loved one and getting over a break up can destroy you. Luckily, having a hot, moody, bad boy hockey player to drown your sorrows in can lighten the load. Aiden is the perfect amount of grumpy to Dayna’s sunshine. I couldn’t put this book down. I can’t wait to see the rest of these hockey players fall hard! Give me more!!!
