There was a fairly major grammatical error in the first paragraph, which turned me off to begin with. The book also begins with the FMC screwing a guy she's bored with, which is an interesting choice (and I genuinely mean that in a non-derogatory way), but the scene quickly devolves into slut-shaming as her father walks in, fires her sex partner, and refers to her as a "nasty little thing" and a "floozy." The conversations are stilted and we learn that the FMC is screwing the men her father is hiring because she thinks she can do the job herself, and she walks through a fairly impressive resume, but her father scoffs over her behavior while she was acquiring that resume. It's dispiriting and feels like a challenging decision from the writer - to make her FMC smart, rich, and accomplished, but kind of a mess and seemingly incapable of negotiating her troubled relationship with her father except by having angry, contemptuous sex with his senior employees - and given how awkward the writing is I don't trust the author to be able to treat this with the sensitivity or thought I think this particular set-up needs.

This is a solid romance book. It is an easy to read book with a semi predictable ending but there are some surprises along the way! A typical tropey romance is usually a 3 star for me but this gets the extra .5 because of the twist I did not see coming. Overall I liked the banter that was involved and I would recommend for a quick easy read or a palate cleanser between more dense books.
