Open end already is not my thing. Why make it one book of its own if it's not finished.
But that was to be expected, honestly.
But Spock reciting the mission order to Kirk just so the reader knows what's going on? That could have been done in a briefing room more than 5 minutes before the mission reached its climax. This way it was illogical. And sending lethal masses of energy through a wormhole, possibly killing millions somewhere else just to save some people here? If that were Starfleet's understanding of ethics, let's just bury the institution as a whole.

Also, the art style is a little off. Neither of the characters look like on the show. Spock missing the eyeshadow being one of the most obvious mistakes. But really, except for Sulu, none of the characters' facial features are recognisable. And Sulu's skin tone seems to be a bit off.

Let's hope the later issues will be better.
