First time reading this author

This was the first time I read S. L. Scott, but it won’t be the last. I enjoyed this book more than I honestly thought I would. First time reading a book broken down into 3 section which as I read, made complete sense.
This story was a second chance romance but it is totally a tear jerker as well. I found myself loving these characters and feeling their heart breakers as the story progressed.
Will be finding other books by this author to read in the future.

The Best kind of Romance

Best I Ever Had is swoon central, a side of wow, and a lot of emotional baggage. Love can be a fast. It can overtake you and give you the highest of highs. It's the harsh slap of reality that makes waves or tsunamis.

Best I Ever Had is full of waves to drown you in. These aren't ripples; they are boat killers. So strap on a life jacket and be prepared to be cold, wet, and alone until you get rescued...

And you will be rescued! Trust me!

I loved everything about this book! I loved all the truth, sweetness, possibilities, the heartbreak, the pain, the vindication, the reconnection and the love.

Read this book!

I really wanted to love this one, but I just couldn't. The pacing of the book, and the story being broke up into 3 sections, just wasn't for me. Cooper and Story have insta love/lust, which wouldn't have been so bad if it hadn't taken forever to get to their HEA. The majority of this book is spent in the past, and not enough of it (IMO) was given to the present/future where they actually get to be happy. There was also A LOT of drama. Not all of it even seemed to further the story, just like it was thrown in for the sake of adding drama. I did like Cooper, and I liked Story for the most part. The fact that Cooper didn't have 100 relationships in the time he and Story were apart was like finding a unicorn lol That never happens. Although this one wasn't a favorite, I do love this author, and I will be looking out for whatever comes next!

Overall I enjoyed this book but it was too long and the pacing was a little off for me. That’s really my only complaint.

I loved Cooper and Story together. Even tho it was instaLove, it fit them. They complimented each other so well. I wish there would’ve been a little more development around the issues with Cooper’s family but I also didn’t hate there wasn’t cause they were the worst.

Cooper and Story were so open with each other. They complimented each other so well and their passion was wonderful. Story was incredibly strong given her lack of a normal childhood and Cooper really turned a corner after acting out just to get his parents attention.

They way they ended up apart was heartbreaking. There was so much misunderstanding and miscommunication. I do think the time apart helped Cooper become the man he needed to be.

It drags on, specially in the beginning. I struggled to finish it
