Another awesome book in the series! I can't wait for the next instalment, but guessing that won't be until next year sometime. Great to see Ryder learning more about Brodie and his friendship with Maggie is coming along nicely! Of course it was good to read about the amazing scent dogs they have!

3.5 stars. Story was fine, although the killer was super obvious. I loved Brodie in this one. She is developing as a character, exploring who she is as an adult and getting a chance to demonstrate how strong she is and show she is not just a victim. My main gripe with this is the treatment of the Maggie/Ryder story line. I loved the Maggie O'Dell series. I love the Ryder Creed series. I was super on board with a relationship between them and how it was progressing in the first 3 books. But now it has stalled and is not going anywhere which is a huge disservice to the character of Maggie and the fans of both series. I want progression or I want to go back to separate series with books about Maggie and her life books as well as books about Ryder and his.
