Court of Tricksters (Fae Tricksters Book 1) by SL Prater was a recommendation I got from Reddit, and I am so glad I gave this one a go. Great characters, great worldbuilding, cool magic and a lovely slow burn chemistry. I'm so glad there's plenty of books in this series!

Rain is a witch, bound to a demon familiar who lives wild in the woods. Night is the Duke of the Lunar Court, noble and refined and very powerful. And yet they have a connection, and Night knows that marrying her would solve a lot of his political problems, even though he doesn't believe in love. Rain isn't so convinced about a marriage of convenience, and how Night goes about wooing her against a backdrop of escalating political tension is a thing of beauty.

 And that slow burn romance. Yum!

3.5 stars. I like the strong woman heroine, I like the plot. It’s slow AF in the first 75% though, and then it ends on a cliffhanger.
