There were a lot of plot twist in this. At first I didn't see how it was a sequel but as you keep reading you find out rowan and yarrow are the same. I loved it so much will be purchasing the third book.

imma say this book was significantly better than the first! not that the first was bad, but it was mediocre compared to this one!
i didn’t think it was possible to love lachlan more than i do, but my thoughts have been proved wrong. if rowen doesn’t end up marrying him, i think i will consider the last 2 weeks a fat waste of time :(
however, besides the romance, i really enjoyed the storyline and the action but mostly the build up. i really really liked it. the best part was the moment rowen found out about the earrings and the greenshirts break in. that’s when i finished the book in less than 2 hours.
i’m very excited to see if eden will well and truly be destroyed!!

It's been a while since I read the first book in this trilogy. I have to admit that I remember that I quite liked it, but that I still felt like the story was missing something. However, for a reading challenge I needed a book where the title starts with the last letter of the title from my previous book and from all the books with an E this was the one I was actually excited about. So, this afternoon, when I finished said previous book, I dived in with low expectations.

This book, for some reason, worked better for me than the previous book. Firstly because this book gives quite a lot of answers, shows us how the rich live and also gives our characters finally some sort of direction, an idea what they're actually fighting for. I mean, of course it's clear that second born children deserve much better than being murdered, but it felt like the issue was much bigger than that and it seems that the author and this book agreed with me.

I therefore quite enjoyed all the world building in this book. It's clear that Graceffa really thought about this world. He thought about why it started, which is a very plausible and even justified reason. He thought about how all those years have been like and he also thought about the endgoal. Of course, I should have known that if you build a smart computer system to get something done, solving your issues starts with having a closer look at said system.

However, I also think that the main character in this book works better than the main character in the previous book, partly because Yarrow seems to actually go somewhere. She's not just running around, without a clue what the goal is and what she's actually fighting for. Therefore her personality traits, understanding, kindness, compassion and forgiveness, are highlighted way more, which makes her easier to like and therefore even easier to root for.

I'm quite excited to read the conclusion. There's quite some work to be done!

Weird book. Not sure why we spent half the book experiencing "Yarrow". That dragged on way too long. Rowan is annoying. Her love triangle is stupid, her supposedly deep connections with people she knew for like 2 days??? make no sense. Cartoon villains. A lot of semi-philosophical meanderings about the benefits of technology and how perfect and wonderful nature is. I am semi-interested in where the plot might go, but given there was about ten seconds of plot in this entire book...

I liked the first book in this series ok so I decided to give the sequel a try. I am so glad that I did! I loved everything about this book and found it difficult to put down until I had finished it. I can't believe the progress from one book to the next. I enjoy seeing an author's work get better as a series goes on. I really hope that there in another book because I am officially in love!

As much as I really loved the plot in this one, I couldn't help but notice the somewhat ordinary writing... and the damn love triangle, I've had too much already, please make it stop!
Spoiler When we thought Lark was dead I was like well that should settle her indecision but then we find out she's not really dead and I was slightly disappointed since it meant the love triangle shall continue...

Anyways, I will obviously read the sequel, because I like where the story is going with the so-called elites of Eden and the interesting complicity--as much as a threat--the EcoPan seems to be. Yeah, I like AI shit.

Uh... I mean... this is CLEARLY written for early teens... the author reveals hidden surprise that was not hidden or surprising, but... I guess COULD be to kids, or young readers. It is not as good as the first book, as it starts out really slow, but it does finish really well.
