This book was included in my book box from ALAN. I was hoping this book would dig deeper into the etymology of everyday words that are derived from mythology. While I enjoyed reading it, there weren't many aspects that aren't already covered in the mythology texts I currently use. My fourth grader enjoyed reading it, and I definitely think it is a better fit for that age group. The illustrations are beautiful, and I liked seeing the subtle nods to the stories through the illustrations on each definition page.

Nice combination of mythology, history and language. Hines illustrations are outstanding.
