I WANT TO RUN AWAY WITH THE RENAISSANCE FAIRE! Seriously. How do I get into this life? Every book in this series has reconfirmed this new dream of mine.
Wasn’t quite sure where a Dex book was going to go since he was so…manhoeish and not very likable in the other books. But I loved it! I loved Lulu for him. And vice versa.
However. Their relationship really seemed to come completely out of nowhere. I swear, half the book goes by and they’ve barely spoken. Then, bam. They’re in a rainstorm ruminating on all their sexual tension. Apparently, that was all off the page? I mean, I obviously wasn’t mad about it. Very pro-them coming together, in fact. It was just sudden.
The first half of the book was a 3 star read for me. So much randomness that I didn’t feel was necessary. Detailing all the ren-faire people and her getting involved in tarot cards and the fortune tellers. Why? It seemed like everything she was doing was pulling her AWAY from the promised love interest. But, random moment of connection occurs and suddenly the book is a 5 star read from then on. So good. So sweet. I loved it. So…4 stars to split the difference.
Also, I loved seeing Mitch and April again. April is still hysterical. And Daniel and Stacey, too. We didn’t get much of them in book three.
I’m truly so sad this series is over. I just felt happy reading it. Is it the best ever? Probably not. But who cares? The heart wants what it wants and mine wants what Jen writes! The end.
