My favourite part is where the two musician's have a bitching session over Juliet's "death".

First of all- it was a book where two thirty year old men continuously fought over a thirteen year old girl. Second of all that nurse is very possibly the worse character in all of the books I will ever read. Lastly, I gave it near 4 stars mainly because (minus the age gap) their love was well written, and the feuding families were very fun to read.
Graphic: Child abuse, Death, Grief, Physical abuse, Rape, Adult/minor relationship, Blood, Murder, and Self harm

I love reading this play with 8th graders. We focus on tragic elements and how those elements are conveyed in both the play and Baz Luhrman’s film adaptation. Director’s choice proves to have some incredible visual and auditory symbols connecting back to the original play.
