I liked it. It felt very human as Mary would explain her arduous journey to America and her perseverance for knowledge.

Another story of a Jewish girl from Poland in America. This one is a memoir and much more heavy on the time spent in Poland. (A full half of the book is before emigration.) The memoirist's tone kind of gets on my nerves a bit, but the book is well written.

Excellent memoir. I want to re-read it.
