I'm not usually one for collections of short stories. I sometimes feel as if the story ends to soon and should be a novel, or that perhaps it was someone's thought and not developed enough to make a good short story. However, this collection not only had excellent stories, but as the introduction above points out, they work together.
I have read larger works of some of the authors, but the others I am happy to have read just a bit of to tempt me into finding more of their works. The imagery in each story was amazing and the illustrations were perfectly suited to the stories.

Recommendation:
If you like dark, sometimes fantasical stories, then I would highly recommend this book and any of its authors.
