Slight spoilers ahead!!

Thank god I finally found a book that talked about ghosts that actually turned out to be ghosts. So many “ghost” stories I’ve read recently have Scooby Do’d me and it was really a person or something like that all along! I wanted and got a great ghost story, as well as an incredible murder mystery. I really really enjoyed this and I wish I hadn’t waited so long to read it. Definitely checking out her other books now!

This book wasn’t bad at all. It’s a ghost story, but pretty predictable. My only real complaint was that it was hard to keep Viv and Carly straight when you’re reading it as they’re both so similar. Carly even says that they’re living the same life, 35 years apart. I’m glad she ended up with Nick in the end, because it seemed so obvious that I’d be upset if it turned out differently!

There’s a point in this book when it becomes truly unputdownable. Believe the hype, this is a really great thriller.

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!

The way that Simone St. James writes dual POV and writes across two timelines is so easy to follow, and the story was compelling from the very beginning. I was completely hooked and rooting for our heroines the whole time. You have no IDEA how relieved I felt when it turned out that Viv wasn't the one who died, but instead she was the one who killed the killer and avenged Betty.

Again, I wish Goodreads would allow half-star ratings, because this was a solid 4.5 star read. The only thing that knocked it down was the fact that imo Viv shouldn't have turned herself in at the end.
