Brilliant book. I was uncomfortable with the fact that it didn’t give me a clear viewpoint to take but I think that’s actually what makes this so great. Definitely made me (re)consider how I think/talk about porn and sexuality in general - hmu if you wanna have a conversation about porn ig

This book was an informative read. It is less a history and more a series of conversations with different people about porn and how they relate to it. I think this book is an excellent place to start the conversation on how individuals interact with porn and how it can directly impact our thought processes.
There is some redundancy as conversations begin to take a similar turn when discussing the negativities of porn and the industry, but overall, the author and the conversations create an interesting dialogue, which if you have any interest in the subject, I would encourage you to read. The conversations discuss a variety of aspects of porn such as how to watch ethically sourced porn, the history of porn mediums, how our mind set shifts with age and experience, and how we engage with porn socially, and where shame fits into the conversation. All of these questions keep the conversations interesting and provide unique perspective. An excellent way to begin a difficult conversation.

almost a month later ive finally finished this book. i think it was an important and interesting one to read, hearing from all different perspectives but obviously not everyone has original views on the topic so it did get quite samey towards the end and i struggled to finish it. the overall message is important, bringing porn into the conversations you have and dampening the stigma around it. not sure if i would recommend if, maybe just suggest a few passages to people.
