Betrayal

Betrayal had me intrigued and fully invested in the story from the very beginning. I devoured it in one sitting. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to see what the author has in store for these characters.

This is one of my favorite series! I just love Nox and Charli. There is so much to unpack in this book. It's really setting up the rest of the series.

There is so much that Charli is dealing with on the home front. She is so strong through. I think that's what I love so much about her. She stands up for herself, and she is fighting for the life that she wants.

Nox is just yummy. I seriously love him. He's so mysterious.

Quick read. Certainly a full novel, but does end in a bit of a cliffhanger. There was a lot going on in this novel, plot wise that I was not prepared for. Definitely more plot heavy than smut heavy despite what the feel from the cover might lead you to believe.

❝I would have gladly given him anything he desired, but the pain in my chest meant I had nothing left to give. Nox already owned me—mind, body, and soul.
I was no longer my own to bestow.❞

for a large portion of the book, I hadn't a clue of what could possibly transpire, or the direction this series would take. thankfully, the characters, writing and dialogue were compelling enough—and then some—to keep me flipping the pages, and by the end, i was throughly impressed and excited with how the events unfolded and intertwined.

should i describe every element of this book with one word, it would be sensuous.

I put off reading this book at first because I just knew I wouldn't be able to put it down!? If you've read any of Aleatha's books, you know exactly what I mean... and as expected, not one chapter in and I was hooked. It was everything you would expect from one of Aleatha's books... Alexandria (Alex aka Chari) takes one weeks vacation away to be the risk-taking, brave girl she never is.. only to meet the mysterious, commanding and sexy as hell, Nox. One week.. no names, no history, no future, nothing more.... could you do it? Could you walk away from the best week of your life and never look back? One day read! My GOD I can't wait for the next book!? Left on a cliffhanger and am so excited to have FOUR more coming in the future! Can't wait for more Nox & Charli!

Outstanding!

This was such a good book and very different. Alex is the girl with a messed up family and must live by there rules, but she rebels against them. Then there is Nox who is gorgeous and gives Alex (Charli) a week she'll never forget and she doesn't until they meet again under different circumstances. Can't wait for the second book.

just at chapter 3 and have experienced prologue(present), 6 weeks ago, and present. When I read a book I like the flow to be continuous. Not chopped up. I get too invested in what I am reading yo be tossed around with different time frames. But it is worth it. As the title of the book would suggest cheating. But there isn't. I think the time changes are to throw you off. And it works. Even though I predicted the ending at some point in the book I was still "surprised" to actually read it and enjoyed it tremendously. This whole book is great. A definite romance combined with trickery. So glad I read this book when all three books have been published. Because I have to read the next book right away. Thought about giving this book a five but I rarely do that. if book 2 is good I might go back and change it.

I’ve mixed feelings about this book.

It’s a mix of steamy, romantic, unique, kinda distopian dating but there’s a theme running through it that makes it like so many other books.

Nox sent shivers through my spine. I didn’t particularly enjoy Alex’s story, it was a bit far fetched.

OH MY GOD, ALEATHA, YOU'RE SUCH A TEASE!
