This isn't good, but I can see why Zoomers like it and why it went viral on TikTok. Most of their history is telling instead of showing, there's only one story we get in detail about Luke picking her up from school late. And of course Emmy is diagnosed with ADHD. But I felt like her characterization of it was wrong. Emmy acts like she has anxiety, not ADHD.
This is just a sibling's best friend trope. Luke is Gus' friend (emmy's older brother). This book also makes it seem like Gus will get with Emmy's best friend Teddy (weird name for a woman) in a future book. Emmy comes back to townafter she's thrown from a horse and she's too shaken to get back on it, a problem for a professional barrel racer. She admits this to Luke and he offers to teach her to ride again, which is his job. They're hanging out together a lot and talking (which were told, only shown some) and that leads to them having sex of the "you're so big, is it in yet" and Luke being out of character dominant in bed.
Eventually Emmy does tell her family she doesn't want to ride anymore and her dad says OK and offers her a job on the ranch.

Cowboy romance, I love thee. This was a lovely introductory novel into the Rebel Blue Ranch series and I’m excited for the following books.
Graphic: Sexual content
Moderate: Violence and Toxic relationship

I had some weird dissonance reading this. Not a whole lot of transition, could’ve been from reading from two different perspectives. I wish there was more character building to understand the relationships better. Smut was good though!
