The author does an admirable job of creating tension and a creepy atmosphere. However, I thought the plot was too predictable, so the story didn't have quite as much impact as I would have hoped.

The story is clean and would be suitable for a wide audience. However, it probably requires some basic knowledge of biology to make sense; the language can be slightly technical at times.

Possibly recommended for those who enjoy science fiction or ecological disaster stories. Even if you can tell where the story is heading, it's a shudder-inducing trip.
