I kept on saying I was going to read it but the 1000 years apart thing seemed weird to me and like it meant I would need to remember so many names. However... I enjoyed it a lot. At first it was a bit off putting and I couldn’t understand why it was done like this but eventually it made perfect sense and then I couldn’t stop reading.

Totally preferred Rielle’s story to Eliana’s, I started off using an audio book to get through the first 100-150 pages which are usually a struggle for me for any new fantasy book I pick up.

I found Eliana’s character to be a bit flippant and inconsistent sometimes, she’d do something one minute with no regret and then immediately feel terrible that she did it, only to do it once again a couple chapters later. I hope that in book 2 I’ll come to like her more. As well as who I’m sure will be her love interest, Simon. I was much more invested in Rielle and Audric’s relationship and wanted more of that, I NEED to know how we end up where the prologue started! Especially with the mystery that is Corien, I don’t know if I like him or not.

Okay... The half.... I just hate Latin America I'm sorry. But that is not the point. This book is Amazing? Yes it is, it might be confusing but when you mmm when you are in the mood? (I'm not a natural English speaker I'm sorry) The book it's amazing. Many incredible and memorable characters and probably a story you would enjoy.

Oh my goodness!
I am so sad that it took me so long to read it because of exams but i binge read the last 300 pages this weekend and I FREAKING LOVED IT!!
This book has all the things i love in it, and even though it was not perfect, it kind of was to me. I dont want to wait to read the next books though!

“She was night itself reborn on earth, a queen swathed in shadows.”

3'5/5 Estrellas.

Although I loved the storyline and I will be reading the next book, the characters are written almost 2D and very predictable. I feel no connection to any of the characters after finishing this book, and believe me I wanted to feel a connection. The ending of the book would suffice as the ending of the series because the ending is absolutely no cliff-hanger. The sex scenes were very cliche and boring, and wholly unexpected based on the writing style. Most books that I've read with this writing style don't include sex scenes, but this one did and personally I would've preferred it without.

Don’t like the dual timeline because the second timeline spoils the first timeline.

Solid start to a fantasy trilogy. Lots of lore and texture to keep up with, but the plot of the older timeline makes it easy to get up to speed. Love the dual timeline structure.

There is so much to say ,, wow I am so glad I didn’t DNF it in the beginning, so glad I pushed myself to continue.

I absolutely loved everything about this book, I haven’t read a novel like this in ages and compared to most it was different and unique and I loved all the characters. I believe I have a new favourite book - the plot of both Rielle and Elians stories just thicken and a lot happens but it was so fun reading both povs especially Elians, god I love her and remy.

This book was worth the read and I’m now deeply in love with this world and Simon ,
