I adore this series. I love all the characters, the worldbuilding, the tense moment, flashbacks and everything. Pacing was perfect, I didn't feel like they rushed the story, but I wasn't bored either. Something was always happening. I love it and will finish the series, now that I have all of them.

There is a cat sacrificed in a flashback, not too graphic. A dog is killed by a demon; it is VERY graphic. Page 205 for my first edition. Just inside chapter 12. You can skip the page. You will know you are there when his owner is mentioned.
