To be honest, I'm kind of emotional finishing this book.

I've fallen hard for this series and I am kind of devastated that it is over. Yes, there is still a short novella left, but that's not enough for me. I want to read more from these characters! I would love another book told from all the characters in this family's perspectives! I just really love these characters.

Will has been one of my favorites since I started this series. So, I knew I would love to read his story. Honestly, Carmen wasn't one of my favorite characters in the series, but I could see the love Will had for her, so I enjoyed her. It was almost like she didn't open herself up to the reader and we weren't let in. BUT the real heart of this book, was a 12 year old boy named Zach. You can't help but fall for him!

I think I say this at the end of every review for this series, but again, if you have not picked up this series, please do!! It's chalked full of feel good emotions!

Thank you Lacey. And if you ever want to write me another book with this family, I would love you forever!

I’ve been a huge fan of Lacey’s since I first read Trust Me over a year ago. I have read, and re-read the Rivers Edge series a few times. I almost feel like an adopted extension of the Stevens family. This ending of the series is bittersweet. On one side, I don’t want to lose my adopted family. On the other, I wanted Will’s HEA.

Oh Will. Shy Will. Hot in a Clark Kent kind of way with his glasses and quiet disposition, Will. You most certainly did not disappoint. To sum it up, Will’s got a new boss. A bitch of a boss, but a hot boss nonetheless. He’s attracted to her, and she is to him. But there’s certainly more beyond that crusty exterior with Carmen.

Nothing could top the anticipation of Will’s story, not since that first scene in the pumpkin patch with Avery and Bean. The fact that Will kept the secret of Avery and Maddox’s relationship and still managed to advise his sister it was all going to blow up, made him that much more intriguing. The anticipation grew further which each appearance in the subsequent books, and especially with the release of Promise Me, where we found out that there was some past relationship with Holly.

What I didn’t expect was ‘Take charge’ Will, and I loved it! I think I may need to get a new bumper sticker that says “I’d bend to Will’s will”

Bravo Lacey! As sad as I am to see the end of the Stevens family (or is it?), I am looking forward to your new projects and to further witness you grow as a writer and superb storyteller.
That epilogue. Sigh. I take that back. Those epilogues. Kleenex had a spike in their facial tissue sales on October 15th.

This book is so bitter sweet to me. I love hearing about the rest of the family from the series, but I don't want it to end!
I gave this book in the series 4 stars mainly because the Will that was depicted in the past books didn't completely align with the Will in the last book. But it could be argued this is what's so great about the character.
I loved his relationship with her son and how they interacted with each other.
All in all this was a good ending to the series!

Will Stevens is a paramedic, and while he enjoys his job, he has been feeling a little lonely after witnessing a slew of relationships around him!

What he did not expect was an attraction to his boss; a boss who he believes is not exactly the epitome of a warm woman or even his type.

But circumstances force him to see beyond the exterior that Carmen shows to the world; and he can’t help but fall for the woman inside.

But theirs is a forbidden relationship; and it is their journey to understand that love is the basic foundation of their lives, is worth reading!
