informative

Fascinating story, albeit based on multiple sources with a lot of the most interesting details still missing (because the police don't even know). I'd be interested in a follow-up in ten years tracking how the guys who made the heist are living the life, but still keeping their stolen riches in hiding.

I don’t understand how criminals this smart get caught so stupidly

Fascinating story. I hope someday the entire plot and all the players are revealed.

The book started with the planning and execution of the heist, moved into a detective story, and ended with a legal drama (or dramedy, perhaps...). It seemed to be well-balanced, avoiding exaggerating or sensationalizing the events while still keeping the story moving and developing the "characters" involved. Would highly recommend it for a glimpse into a real-life Ocean's Eleven! (e.g.: real heists take literally *years* of planning, not a Hollywood timescale of days or weeks ...)

I've been infected to really appreciate a good caper and this definitely fit the bill. Along with that, the story of the detective work to solve the crime was great. The story dragged at times and flew at others. The Epilogue where Notarbartolo reinvented to the story in quest for the almighty dollar was a bit of a disappointment; he had been such a good villain until then. Very entertaining read.
