I freaking loved this instalment in the series. It had perfect blend of action, mystery, emotions and both John and Kyle interactions were absolutely everything ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜. I love kyle so much that i was kicking my feet in the air while reading some of his scenes.

The puzzle pieces are inching towards their final destination as our protagonists are finally reunited after a discombobulating prior 5 installments.
So much devastation and heartache have occurred, and I suspect more will come.
I want a happy ending for these two. I. Need. It.

Probably every person in this entire three-story complex had something to tell Jath’ibaye. It wasn’t as if he was Kahlil’s private deity anymore.

I know I'm being picky, but I JUST. Some things bothered me. I didn't like how we were told about everything that happened in the past instead of being able to experience it. It made it less emotional and anticlimactic. (Hopefully there's a reason for this, bc like everything else in this series, there's always a reason.)
However, despite that this installment was near perfect. I'm so utterly in love with Kyle. And him and John and even more perfect. We got really cute moments in this and I was obsessed with them. The plot is also progressing exceptionally. I'm still in awe of this world and how intricate it is. Ginn Hale is an amazing world builder.
Also, Ji is so cute and I love her so much.

Spring 2023 (April);
Doing a full-on set for all ten/eleven of these novellas, read for another game. They were an entertaining but very simplistic read. I did love seeing how everything came together toward the end, slotting details in from the beginning, but there were a number of problems with only a handful of people spotlighted and a lot of details about them unknown, too.

More of the story is revealed, and things that happened in the past finally start to make sense. I don't want to give anything away, but one word can sum up how I feel about this chapter: Finally! (although it wasn't detailed enough for me, especially after having to wait all this time for it to happen - we really needed more than just a paragraph or two, if you know what I mean ;-)
