The book had a rocky start for me in the sense that I could see the author's research as plainly as if I were reading her index cards. The story did have some fun little twists and idiosyncrasies, though, and a rather satisfying ending.

Quick read. Light entertainment.

What happened in this book? I feel so disappointed! I really like the Company of Rogues series, but this story almost seemed to have been written by someone else. The plot was bad, the characters uninteresting and there was an exaggeration of pseudo-sexual scenarios.
Beverly Jo is one of my favourite authors in the historical romance genre, but this book is not for me.
