I get the feeling like this book is trying very hard to be two things. The art style makes me think that this series is aimed towards younger readers. While uses of phrases like "Here comes the boom!" for weapon sound effects and Rocket announcing he will escape jail via "prison break montage" leaves a distinct Deadpool impression.

Leaving aside the fact that I'm not the biggest fan of Deadpool, I'm not sure the combination of those two elements is something that needed to be done in comics. Reading [b:Legendary Star-Lord, Volume 1: Face It, I Rule|23017960|Legendary Star-Lord, Volume 1 Face It, I Rule|Sam Humphries|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1416773958s/23017960.jpg|42587509], I had trouble with generally trying to place it in connection with the regular Guardians series. I don't have that problem here, because I just can't connect the Rocket presented here with the Rocket from the regular series.

I like the character. But I like him better when he's handled more seriously. And yes, I realize the irony in saying that when discussing a talking raccoon and his tree-man bodyguard.

Much better than the Rocket & Groot book I read not too long ago. Loved that this was drawn by Skottie Young but some of the stories were lacking such as the one told by Groot.

Not a whole lot of plot, but still a fun read.

Fun, funny, and very fast-paced. Basically just Rocket cracking wise and blowing things up. One chapter is told entirely by Groot ("I am Groot.") I like writer/artist Skottie Young's style--perfect match for the subject. Not essential in any way, but a good way to kill a lunch break.

Harken ye, comics fan to the hazy days of Keith Giffen's ridiculously wonderful and over-the-top Lobo comics (I'm looking at you, Infanticide) and you capture what Skottie Young's doing here with Rocket (and Groot!). This is not to be in any way taken seriously, and it's going to let you know that right away. Once you ratchet down into where it wants you to be (turning off higher brain function) this is a fun ride into the dark side of a raccoon-looking galactic mercenary, and it's six issues of solid fun, with the first four being an arc unto themselves and the last two being two standalones.

This comment is a compilation of the six issues.

After I have seen Guardians of the Galaxy I wanted to read something else about Rocket... and then I found this comic. It has everything that I liked from this character: he being a badass, lot of action and quite some jokes. In this first number, Rocket saves a princess and reunites with Groot. And then problems began... Funny and full of speed.

Rocket was caught by police and he needs to escape but, thanks to Groot they will be able to have more adventures. I loved the splash page about how they are escaping. However, Rocket again is in trouble, this time with Macho Gomez (seriously???) It's quite interesting all about the ex-girlfriends squat. Not bad but not totally awesome.

Ex-girlfriends attacking Rocket, lots of explosions, a desert, some answers and lots of questions. This could be a summary about this third issue of Rocket. I like its ending :)

I love this cover very much! Two raccoons? Maybe that's too much for the universe. Well, I'm not going to talk about the other raccoon but Rocket has some more trouble here... and his ass is being kicked like A LOT! It has its sad moments, its funny jokes and lot of action. Nice one.

I think this one is the best issue of all the series. I just love the idea of Rocket and Groot with lot of kids telling them their adventures... and I love that the story is told my Groot. The reaction of the boys is great! Just a great one :)

This one begins with Rocket ending a little job and earning some credits. But, he still need more and goes for a mission to help Cosmo the dog. The story of the robots is great and I loved the ending of what Cosmo really wanted. A very pleasant reading.
