Funny! Ok, maybe not all the lists, but some of them made me laugh so hard Kiera thought I was crazy. (Also, I didn't read the whole thing straight through. I just flipped around. But I think I read most of it.)

As with most of McSweeney's recent output there is some good and some bad in this collection. One of the central problems of this group seems to be that they are excellent at coming up with concepts but weaker in the execution. In that regard the ideas for these lists are often much funnier than the actual lists. Still, it is a good book for pulling out when you have a few free minutes at a Doctor's office or something like that.

There are some winners in this collection of McSweeney’s lists, including my favorite one of all time:
Things This One Girl Sitting Near Me in a Movie Theater Said Out Loud When One of the Characters Was Shown Pulling into a Gas Station
“Oh, he’s going to stop for gas.”
But many of them felt dated or out of touch, or just didn’t age well. I probably would have enjoyed this more had I read it when it came out. Back to the used bookstore it goes.
