I didn't like this book at all. The reason may be the short time I had to read it or maybe just the fact that this is a typical modern novel. No happenings at all... I think I misunderstood some of the parts so the depth of the novel hasn't been clear for me. I shall try reading it in 10 years and we'll see what happens.

Is this the ideal medium in which to experience Proust? No, not really, but the art does a nice job of depicting the time and place which are so important and vivid.

I can finally say I've read "Remembrance of Things Past" !

OK, this is only a sampling of some key scenes, but there is enough of the text to get a feel for the style of the original. Enough to decide whether you do or don't want to plunge into the real thing.
