I wasn't sure what to expect with this and honestly had no idea these books existed until I was gifted them. Thankfully I loved it. It's a silly and spooky time. If you are a fan of the Haunted Mansion then you will enjoy the vibes of the stories and the references to the Haunted Mansion ride and story. I loved noticing all the elements from the ride that were in this book. Whether it was characters or rooms. I also noticed that the sequels mention even more characters so it makes me excited to continue on. Now I will say there were moments and some stories where I was a little bored but never wanted to set it down. The first and last story were the most enjoyable. I honestly think Willa's story was the weakest. I really enjoyed the characters but do wish we learned more about a couple of them. I felt so connected to Willa and Tim but would forget the other two were there sometimes. Though Steve definitely has the best story. Not only is it terrifying and uncomfortable. At least for me as someone that deals with claustrophobia. But it ends so gruesomely and leads into that shocking end that I really loved. Over all had a wonderful time with this.

My youngest daughter is enthralled by all things Disney’s Haunted Mansion. So when I found this series naturally she wanted to read them. We started from the beginning this time and she loves recognizing the references to the mansion itself. Pretty well done. And the stories were just enough creepy mixed with comedy to really catch her attention. And I thought it was fairly entertaining too.

It's a given that I'll love any book that's based inside the Haunted Mansion. Regardless of that, though, it was a really good book. Nice and scary, and perfect for Halloween.

This was definitely more graphic than I expected a middle grade book to be. I thought each of the stories were super creepy, but Steve’s story was the one that stuck with me the most because
being buried alive and tiny spaces
are both a huge fear of mine. I’ve only ever seen the Eddie Murphy movie adaptation of these books but seeing some familiar characters being mentioned made me really happy and nostalgic. I kind of expected the reveal at the end but still, the spooky vibes made this a fun read! Loved the narration and vivid description as well!

With zero expectations.. I enjoyed this book.

The Fearsome Foursome started off a little slow for me. Luckily, the stories got better with each new chapter. Little twists and turns did nothing for me but I still enjoyed the little adventure I got. Not going to lie, I wanted to dive into this book due to the movie.. and that's pretty much it. Never really believed in ghosts or spirits.. and I probably never will. In the end, it was a pretty quick read and I decided to dive into the next book ASAP.

Hopefully it just keeps getting better!

An intro to supernatural/horror for kids with a ghostly librarian and nods to DHM. It's four loosely connected short stories, which isn't really clear from the book organization. You've got zombie pets, a cthulu-style pool monster, being buried alive, and a haunted baseball glove. Well-written enough, though I could have used a lot more of the librarian and a lot less of the kids. They were more than a little annoying and really just cardboard stand-ins for the stories. All in all ok but I probably wouldn't have stuck it out if I weren't such a huge HM fan.

I found this book actually very scary. I think because the tales involved children. I loved the narrator’s thoughts directed at us readers. I’ll definitely continue with this series.

i didn't love the narration style of this book, it felt too young and the fourth-wall breaks were far too frequent. the stories themselves were entertaining enough, though
